Arrive Tan Son Nhat Airport, tour guide pick up and transfer for lunch at a local restaurant then transfer to Cu Chi Tunnels, an incredible underground network constructed by Vietnamese guerrillas to protect the region against the American attacks during the Vietnam War. Back to Ho Chi Minh City in the afternoon and free to discover the city in your own way. Afternoon, take a sightseeing tour of Ho Chi Minh City that includes Saigon Notre-Dame Basilica, a French-built neo-Roman cathedral, and Saigon Central Post Office.
After breakfast at the hotel, travel by road to the Mekong Delta (approximately 2 hours). On arrival in My Tho City, capital of Tien Giang Province, embark on a boat and navigate through intricate canals while observing the local daily life up close, along with the scenic waterways and lush islands. Land on Unicorn Island to enjoy wandering through verdant orchards, tasting fresh fruits, and listening to Southern-style traditional music.
Continue to the second delta province, Ben Tre, where you will watch local villagers make coconut candy in a rural workshop, take a brief walk, and experience riding a horse-pulled carriage. Cruise further to visit bee-keeping households and enjoy tasting fresh homegrown honey and honey tea. Return to Ho Chi Minh City and visit Thien Hau Pagoda, built in 1760 to worship a female Sea deity, and explore Cho Lon, the city’s China Town.
Morning, transfer to the airport for flight to Da Nang (Domestic Flight).
Arrive in Da Nang, where the tour guide will pick you up and transfer you to the downtown area to visit the Cham Museum, home to the world’s foremost collection of sculpture from the ancient Kingdom of Champa. Continue to Non Nuoc Beach, a scenic coastal stretch known for its white sand and gentle waves, and explore Marble Mountain by lift, a cluster of five marble and limestone hills representing the five elements of the universe.
Morning, depart for Ba Na Hills, passing along the scenic sea-shore Nguyen Tat Thanh Street, one of the most beautiful roads in Da Nang City, and Red Beach, where the French first landed in Da Nang.
Arrive at the Cable Car Station at the foot of Ba Na Mountain and enjoy the first leg of the cable car ride, which holds two Guinness World Records (longest non-stop cable car at 5,042m and highest non-stop cable car at 1,292m). Visit Le Jardin, featuring old wineries, the remains of French villas, and Linh Ung Pagoda with its impressive 27m-high Buddha statue.
Continue by the second cable car to the mountain top to explore more remnants of old villas. Conquer the Peak of Chua Mountain at 1,487m for a panoramic view of Da Nang City nestled beneath a blanket of clouds. Then explore the trail of Dreaming Stream, Rainbow Waterfall, Suspension Bridge, the iconic Golden Bridge held up by giant hands, and the ruined Opera House. Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant before returning to the cable car station and transferring back to Da Nang City.
Morning, transfer to the airport for your domestic flight to Hanoi.
Arrive at Noi Bai International Airport, where you’ll be welcomed by your guide and transferred to your hotel. Hanoi, meaning “River-bound City,” is Vietnam’s capital with a rich history dating back to 1010. Begin a full-day city tour with a visit to the Ho Chi Minh Complex, which features the life of Vietnam’s founding leader. Explore the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum (closed on Mondays, Fridays, and during October–November), and his stilt house, where he lived and worked.
Continue to the iconic One Pillar Pagoda, built in the 11th century, symbolizing a lotus blossom rising from the water, dedicated to the Bodhisattva Avalokiteshvara. Visit the Temple of Literature, Vietnam’s first university, founded in 1070 to honor Confucius and esteemed scholars.
Then, head to Hoan Kiem Lake, the symbolic heart of Hanoi, whose name means “The Return Sword Lake,” and visit Ngoc Son Temple situated on the lake. Enjoy a one-hour cycle tour through the bustling Old Quarter, known for its narrow streets and traditional craft shops. 8:00 AM, depart from your hotel for a transfer to Ha Long Bay, approximately 160 km away—a scenic 3.5-hour drive. En route, stop at a handicraft workshop featuring fine clothes and embroidered paintings. Arrive in Ha Long City at 11:30 AM and board your booked junk cruise after a welcome drink.
Begin cruising while enjoying lunch on board, taking in the majestic views of Ha Long Bay, which translates to “Descending Dragon Bay”—named after a legend where a holy dragon descended from the sky. The cruise includes close-up views of Dinh Huong Island, Ga Choi Island (Fighting Cocks Island), Dog Island, and Sail Island.
